I should be asleep, but I wanted to write my general observations before I hit the sack. I finished the series about 10 minutes ago. ^_^

- Setsuna: he's OK as the main protagonist, but there's nothing about him that has really made me like/be interested in him.

- Tieria: Whooboy, what a man-bitch he was initially, although after Lockon saved him, I began to like him more, probably because he acted like less of a man-bitch then. Maybe it's due to my fighting off sleep for the past couple of hours, but Chris, I did not see whatever you told me it is that would shed some insight into what he is. Because by now we all know he's not human. I can't wait to find out what he actually is.

- Allelujah: I'll be frank; for the majority of the series my fascination with him was solely due to his hotness. XD But I'm really eager to see him in Season 2. I want to find out just who/what Marie was to him, and how he's going to survive without Hallelujah there to constantly save him from dying.

- Speaking of characters being constantly saved from dying, Soma just needs to die. Seriously. I'm fed-up of Sergei always swirling to her rescue.

- Lockon. Sigh. He was my favourite character from the very first episode, and he still is. His death was really sad, even though I had known that it was coming for a while. I don't know what's up with this Lockon Stratos in Season 2, but I've resigned myself to the idea that it's most likely his twin, because apparently the director has stated explicitly that Neil Dylandy did die. *sniff* I'll miss you, Lockon. and Haro, too.

- I disliked the Trinity throughout their thankfully short tenure. Now I hope Nena dies in Season 2. I can't forget or forgive that unprovoked attack in Spain. And Michael was particularly annoying.

- Sumeragi was cool. I like her alcoholism; it's an endearing flaw. Well, for now. I wonder what Season 2 holds for her and Billy, especially when he inevitably discovers that she worked/works for Celestial Being, the group that was behind their old professor's death. I'd also like to know what was that big mistake she made a while back.

- I didn't care about the rest of the crew except for Feldt, and lucky me, she survived. -_- Christina and Lichty's death was sad, though. I had no idea that Feldt was 14 until I saw her character profile on Wikipedia. More than any other character, I'd like to see what's happened to her and how/if she's changed in the 4 elapsed years.

- Wang Lui Mei irritates me whenever she's onscreen. She seems sort of fanatical, and she has this quality about her that makes me think that if the world doesn't transform to her liking, then she's going to go batshit crazy and destructive. I can see her being a baddy in Season  2.

- Alejandro just reminded me of a typical, tyrannical anime villain. I like how Ribbons one-upped him in episode 25. But what's up with that image of Ribbons in the preview? It looks as though he's either cloned himself, or is a clone.

- Graham is just meh for me. Seriously, I don't understand the fandom-wide lovefest. To be frank, I was peeved to see him show up in the final episode; it seemed as though the writers had just realised, "Hey, we haven't used him in 2 episodes, let's bring him out so people don't forget who he is." Personally, I would have been glad to. XD And who does he think he is with that mask? Char?

- How the fuck, and why the fuck did Patrick survive? Blah blah blah, yeah yeah yeah, he's Tieria's foil. Doesn't mean I have to like seeing him show up onscreen; he stopped being funny in the first episode.

- Speaking of Tieria, I totally thought that Regene was him. And I was going to congratulae him for taking the Lockon guilt a little too far and for finally giving up the atrocious pink.

- What was he doing with Louise, though? And I'm hoping that Season 2 will make Saji and Louise more meaningful, plot-wise. I would think that they've both become more mature and darker mentally, especially in Saji's case.

- Ali Al Saachez. Grr. I can't decide who I want to kill him more: Setsuna or "new" Lockon. But he is an interesting character. I like hoe he maintains no illusions about who he is and his

- I have to assume that Marina Ismail will have a more important role in Season 2, 'cuz in Season 1 I don't think there was much substance behind her. I can't tell which pairing would freak me out more: Setsuna/Marina or Feldt/Lockon. *shudder* Here's to hoping that neither comes off. It's just like how I feel about Code Geass. I don't see the need for any romance in this series, at least not now. There are so many better things to fill the episodes with: character development, battlefield action, more political manoeuvring.

- I went on FF.Net searching for some fanfic on this series, but unless I completely missed it, I didn't see any category for this series.   :(    I'm a sad Mell.

- I'm so glad that I didn't give this series up after the first episode didn't do much for me. Right now, it's battling Code Geass for the title of my current favourite anime. Chris, which one do you prefer?

- The animation is so easy on the eye; it definitely trumps Code Geass in comparison. My only pet peeve is how miraculously easy it was for the pilots and their Gundams to be saved or to gain the upper hand when it seemed as though all were lost: from the Trinity's first appearance, to the Trans-Am system, to Setsuna having a flashback that was supposed to explain the ease with which he sliced that armour in episode 25.  Not to mention good 'ol Hallelujah  coming out whenever Allelujah was captured or his death seemed likely.

- The music is better too, the OPs have been passable, and I liked the 1st ED a lot, and I absolutely LOVE the 2nd ED. ^_^ Good stuff, man.

- October cannot come soon enough more than ever this year. (My birthday + Season 2 = HAPPY MELL. )

- I'm probably forgetting something, but this is it for now. If I have any more thoughts later I might post them. Bottom line: I really like this new Gundam series, it's making me forgot the cow droppings that was GSD.

The one thing I like about Setsuna is that he's the fulcrum for the construction of the Gundam as a symbol. Not too many Gundam shows do that while maintaining the real robot-esque feel, and I kinda like it.

What I meant about Tieria is that Liechtendahl being an android cyborg thing implies that Tieria is too.

Nena has stumbled onto the secret to getting away with murder--be a girl with big boobs. This was Charles Manson's problem.

I never even gave a shit about Feldt, really. Although I can't count the number of times I've seen people speculating that she was going to be a Gundam Meister for season 2, rather than Lockon the Second here.

Alejandro was hilarious because he was such a Bond villain. The gold-plated gun, the golden mobile armor with the golden mobile suit inside, the maniacal cackling...it was perfect. I was half expecting him to say during episode 25, "No, Mr. Seiei, I expect you to die!"

Graham gets fanboy boners because of the Gundam fandom's reflexive hatred of Gundams. They all want to see the Gundams lose, they all want to see the crushing grip of reality and warfare and suffering reassert its control over mankind, some of them even want to see America win the day and conquer the world through its various stand-ins, real and imagined (you should see MAHQ's resident Britannia fanboy). Even though the best he did against the Gundams was force a draw with the mostly disarmed and exhausted Exia (after sitting on his ass for like five episodes while his teammates got killed), that doesn't seem to stop them.

Since when was Patrick Tieria's foil? I mean, he and his buddy had reduced the Nadleeh to pretty much an arm and a torso, and still the best he could manage was a draw. Patrick is just comic relief.

I didn't like how Lockon was the one to beat down Ali for the season. I mean, Lockon had a good reason to hate Ali too, but the show had spent the entire first season building up Setsuna and Ali as rivals. Ali was the one who beat the crap out of him at Moralia, and then they fought again at Azadistan, and then it was Setsuna and Setsuna alone that Ali bathed in plasma at Taklamakan, and then it was Setsuna and Setsuna alone who took him on when he stole the Throne Zwei. And then...Lockon jumps in and suddenly he's Ali's biggest rival. Well, feh, now Lockon's dead and Setsuna and Ali can tear each other to pieces in the brutal end-of-series bloodbath we all know is coming, like good rivals should.

There might be 00 fanfiction in the other Gundam sections. The UC section seems to be the catch-all for Gundam fanfiction that doesn't fit in any of FF.net's sections.

I kinda like Code Geass better, personally, because 00 is still just a Gundam show, and although there's stuff it does differently from its predecessors, the fanboy-ing kind of keeps me from getting too worked up over it.

And of course, there's a third MST, because the material doesn't really stop.

Feldt as a Meister? No.

I read somewhere online that the clashes were Setsuna/Ali, Lockon/Graham, Allelujah/Soma, and Tieria/Patrick. I can actually believe the Patrick and Tieria one. If he was just for comic relief, couldn't they have killed him off in Ep 24 and not made a point of showing him in the preview?

Thanks for the tip; I'll go check out the UC section.

XD I can't decide whether I'm disappointed or relieved that there was no lemon in this one. God, haven't you become an MST-writing machine? ^^

I think this 1 is my favourite so far. Suzaku as an evangelical is so fitting, and I'm amazed at the variety of songs that you use. How in the hell did you know about that Tiffany song? XD
